The story
Pure Works was incorporated in the State of California on May 17, 1999, and its US teams have long come from two Bay Area churches: Abundant Life Christian Fellowship in Mountain View and Foursquare CBAY. Rich Young's letter lists San Francisco alongside the overseas countries as a place where projects have been planned and completed.
In November 2014 Pure Works held a San Francisco Bay Area praise and worship seminar and concert. Pastors Brian Goodell, Mark Palazzolo and Rich Young spoke; there were breakout sessions for vocals, guitar, keys, bass, drums and sound engineering, a senior pastor question-and-answer panel, twelve worship team members sharing five minutes each on what praise and worship mean to them, three meals, and a closing two-hour session with a large band of musicians and singers.
On February 12, 2016, the Rich Young Band played a Valentine's Day outreach in Mountain View. The team measured its success by one man, over eighty years old, who received Jesus as Savior for the first time, and names the team: Dale Weatherford, Kimeral Anthony, David Weatherford, Andy "Jack" Winfield, Orpah Phillips, Corina Gomez, Dale Dickson, Grace Rhie, Rich, Sal Hernandez, Jay Goudeau and Kirk Williams.
In Tucson, on May 15, 2016, Katrina Wallace organized a gathering at La Paloma Academy after her mother, "Maw" Wallace, told her that the city had invited a Satanist to give an invocation. The afternoon was praise and worship, prayer for the city, and a message from Rich Young to Christians on "First Love", followed by food for all. On December 22, 2019, The Greatest Story brought the birth of Jesus to life in Tucson with a contribution of time, animals and people.pureworks.org.
The Tex and Vera Memorial fund is one of the seven funds on the giving page.
